Ferrari Purosangue Price in Kenya. Ferrari's First Four-Door and What It Means

Carstore LIMITED May 28, 2026

Ferrari resisted making a four-door vehicle for decades longer than any of its rivals. While Porsche was building the Cayenne in 2002, while Bentley launched the Bentayga in 2015, Ferrari kept insisting it never would. When the Purosangue arrived in 2022, it arrived with the weight of that history behind it, and Ferrari handled the contradiction in the only way they could: by building something that doesn't really feel like an SUV at all.

The Purosangue is the most expensive and most technically ambitious vehicle in this guide by some distance. It's also, genuinely, unlike anything else on the market. Whether that justifies what it costs is a question only the buyer can answer.

What the Purosangue Is and Is Not

Ferrari calls it a four-door four-seater. Not an SUV. This is partly marketing defensiveness and partly accurate. The Purosangue sits 75 millimetres higher than the Ferrari Roma but lower than a Porsche Cayenne. Its body is closer to a shooting brake or a high-riding GT car than to a conventional SUV silhouette. The rear-hinged back doors are a signature detail that Ferrari shares with Rolls Royce on the Cullinan, and they create an entry experience that is genuinely dramatic.

The engine is the thing that separates the Purosangue from every other premium four-door SUV on the market. Ferrari's naturally aspirated 6.5 litre V12 sits behind the front axle in a front-mid position, producing 715 horsepower. There are no turbos. No hybrid system. The V12 breathes freely and revs to 8,250 revolutions per minute. The sound at full throttle is something I find difficult to describe accurately in print. It's not like other car engines. Ferrari has been building V12s since 1947 and the accumulated knowledge shows in every aspect of how this unit behaves.

Ferrari's personalisation programme, Tailor Made, allows buyers to specify exterior colours, interior materials, and details to a level of individuality that production specification sheets don't capture. Tailor Made examples command significant premiums over standard specification cars. Brand new Purosangue orders in Kenya carry landed costs above the figures shown here once all applicable duties are applied.

The Driving Experience

I want to be careful here because I don't want to write promotional language disguised as a description. So let me be specific.

The Purosangue accelerates from standstill to 100 kilometres per hour in 3.3 seconds. For a vehicle that weighs 2,033 kilograms, that number requires a moment to process. The V12's character is what produces the feeling rather than the number: it pulls harder as the revs rise rather than peaking early and tapering, which creates a sensation of ongoing acceleration that turbocharged engines don't replicate. You keep thinking it's going to run out of momentum and it doesn't.

The chassis is Ferrari's. Not a modified Volkswagen group platform. Ferrari built the Purosangue's structure specifically for this vehicle, and the engineering is focused on dynamics in a way that the Urus, Bentayga, and Cullinan, however excellent they are, don't quite match. The steering is the most direct of any four-door vehicle at this price. The body control at speed is something that physics suggests shouldn't be possible in an object of this size.

On Nairobi's roads the Purosangue is compliant and manageable. The magnetic ride suspension handles speed bumps and rough sections without drama. It's not harsh. It's firmer than a Cullinan but not uncomfortably so for a vehicle with this driving capability.

Practicality

Four seats. The rear seats are proper, with enough headroom and legroom for adults. The rear doors open to 79 degrees which gives genuinely easy access, better than most four-door coupes. Boot space at 473 litres is not large by SUV standards but is adequate for four people's luggage on a reasonable trip.

Ferrari limited initial Purosangue production to 20% of their total annual output to protect the brand's positioning. This means used examples are genuinely scarce. A buyer who finds a well documented, low mileage Purosangue in Kenya in 2026 is dealing with a vehicle that had a waiting list when new.

Ownership in Kenya

Ferrari service in Kenya is handled through an authorised representative in Nairobi. The V12 engine, being naturally aspirated and without the complexity of turbochargers or hybrid systems, is in some ways more straightforward to maintain than a turbocharged V8. Ferrari's service intervals and requirements are nonetheless specific and must be followed at an authorised centre.

Parts lead times from Ferrari's Maranello factory in Italy are typically two to four weeks for non-standard items. Annual maintenance costs reflect the vehicle's position at the top of the market. Insurance requires specialist coverage and premiums reflect the replacement value.

The Question Worth Asking

The Urus is faster in a straight line over 400 metres. The Cullinan is quieter and more luxurious. The Bentayga is more practically configurable. The Purosangue does none of these things worse enough to matter, and it does one thing none of them can: it has a naturally aspirated V12 engine that Ferrari built specifically for this vehicle, and that engine is going to become rarer as the industry moves toward electrification. Whether that matters to you as a buyer is the honest question.

For buyers for whom it does matter, the Purosangue is the obvious answer. For buyers who want the most practical premium four door at this price, there are other choices.
